Record Clear Player Introductions in PlatePlaya

By PlatePlaya · Documentation reviewed

You can record a player introduction in PlatePlaya and play it with a song or on its own. A quiet recording and a speaker sound check matter more than simply turning the volume all the way up.

Record an introduction

  1. Confirm the player’s name pronunciation and jersey number.
  2. Open that player’s editor and find the introduction recording controls.
  3. Allow microphone access when prompted. Move somewhere quiet and speak clearly near the microphone without covering it.
  4. Record a short introduction, stop, and listen back. Re-record if a word is clipped or there is distracting background noise.
  5. Save the player and preview the complete walk-up.

For example: “Now batting, number twenty-two, Riley Brooks.” Use the player’s preferred name and avoid sharing personal information in the recording.

Can I play an introduction without music?

Yes. Save the recording on the player and use Play in Game Mode. You do not need to choose a song for an introduction-only walk-up.

Make the voice easier to hear

Use the announcement volume setting to adjust introductions independently of the music. Preview the result through the speaker you will use. If the voice sounds distorted, reduce the level and make a cleaner recording instead of adding more boost.

When music and an introduction overlap, PlatePlaya reduces the music during the spoken introduction. Your phone’s output volume and the speaker’s controls still affect what the audience hears.
