Back Up and Share Your PlatePlaya Team

By PlatePlaya · Documentation reviewed

A PlatePlaya team backup can preserve team setup, available imported audio, and recorded introductions. Catalog preview audio is excluded. Save the backup file somewhere you can find it again; exporting a file is not automatic cloud backup or live team synchronization.

Save a backup

  1. Open the team’s import/export or backup actions. Labels can differ between app versions.
  2. Choose the team backup option and review the summary.
  3. Check warnings about missing or excluded audio before saving.
  4. Save the .plateplaya file to a location you control, such as Files or a cloud-storage folder.

Keep an additional copy outside the phone if you want protection against losing the device. A backup contains player names and may contain voices and music, so keep it private.

Restore or pass the team to another operator

  1. Make the backup file available on the receiving device.
  2. Choose Restore a team backup and select the file.
  3. Review the team and any audio warnings before confirming.
  4. Restore creates a new team. Check the roster, lineup, introductions, and clip times.
  5. For players marked Music needs relinking, select the song or audio again, then test Game Mode.

Sending a backup gives someone a copy; later edits do not automatically update their team. Use compatible current versions of PlatePlaya and review the import summary, especially when moving between platforms.

Why doesn’t restore include catalog clips?

Catalog previews are not copied into the backup. Their song details and trim times can be saved, but those details are not the audio itself. Select the song again after restoring. A backup is not a way to obtain the full song or transfer music-service access.
